LPGA Implements New Rule Where A Man Has To Guide Each Golfer’s Swing Before Teeing Off

DAYTONA BEACH, FL - Ahead of the 2025 season, the Ladies Professional Golf Association implemented a new rule where a man will be required to stand behind each female golfer and guide their swing before teeing off at the first hole of all major tournaments.

“It’s no secret that we need to spice things up a bit, ” newly hired CEO Guy McDuffy told The Gas Lamp. “My first idea was having these gals play in lingerie, but apparently that’s ‘misogynistic’... whatever the hell that means. Then I figured, guys would probably tune in more often if they felt like they had some stake in the game. So giving men some agency in showing women how to strike the ball seemed like a logical solution.”

According to Forbes, Guy has a long history of implementing outside-the-box strategies to large companies and organizations, with varying degrees of success. McDuffy was heavily praised in the business community for coming up with the idea to remove chargers from newly purchased iPhones which saw a 29% boost in revenue. However, he was also responsible for the ‘Endless Shrimp’ promotion that saw Red Lobster lose $20 million dollars.

While focus groups show that men are more interested in watching women’s golf with the new rule, the LPGA’s players are furious.

“It is incredibly insulting to every member of the LPGA to suggest that we need a man to show us how to swing and that we can’t hit the ball very far. In fact, it's actually harder to hit from the so-called ‘women’s tees’ because there’s less room to save a shank and the expectations of hole-in-ones are so much higher,” LPGA player Lydia Ko claimed.

At press time, the LPGA also announced that it would be banning its players from driving the golf carts for the safety of everyone on the course.
