Ketanji Brown Jackson Arrives At Inauguration In Stunning $19.99 Seashell Necklace From Sunsations
WASHINGTON, D.C. - As the world gathered to watch President Trump’s inauguration on Monday, few could ignore the glamorous outfits donned by Melania Trump, Ivanka Trump, and Usha Vance.
But perhaps the most eye-catching accessory was the cowrie seashell necklace worn by Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson.
According to a spokesperson for Brown Jackson, the elaborate necklace was a family heirloom passed down from her grandmother who wore it protesting segregation in 1935.
Internet sleuths, however, debunked Brown Jackson’s claim when they posted photos on Reddit showing the Supreme Court Justice walking out of a Sunsations in Miami just a few days before Trump’s swearing-in along with an ad for the exact same necklace on sale for $19.99.
While Brown Jackson’s office denied the rumors, the theory was inadvertently proven by teen political activist @Jenna_VV who posted an awkward selfie on Instagram with the Justice walking out of the Ocean Drive store, seemingly trying to avoid attention.
At press time, Brown Jackson’s office refused to comment on the rumors of the necklace’s origin and said that the Justice was simply visiting South Beach for legal research on a new case regarding the legality of dolphin hunting.
