Patrick Mahomes Tells Receivers To Imagine The Football As Negative Paternity Test Papers To Motivate Them To Catch Better
KANSAS CITY, MO - Slamming helmets and hurling expletives has become all too frequent a sight on the Kansas City Chief’s sideline this season as the team leads the league in number of passes dropped.
After another nailbitting win against the Cincinnati Bengals in which dropped passes continued to plague the Chiefs offense, quarterback Patrick Mahomes reportedly tried a new way of breaking through to his receivers by telling them to think of the football as negative paternity test papers.
“We’ve got a lot of great talent on this team,” Mahomes said in a post-game press conference. “But if we’ve got any shot of making a run in the playoffs, we’ve got to lock in and focus. I’m not going to go into exactly what I said in the locker room, but I laid into a few guys and said some things to help them try and complete more catches.”
But backup Defensive End Malik Herring quickly revealed Mahomes’ unusual pep talk on X after the game.
The Chiefs take on the Chargers tomorrow in Los Angeles at 4:25 p.m. EST.
