Gavin Newsom Awkwardly Sends Fifth Text To Xi Jingping Without A Response

SACRAMENTO, CA - Two weeks after Xi Jingping’s historic visit to California, Governor Gavin Newsom has reportedly sent another text without a reply to the Chinese President. The reports come from a top-level aid who peeped the Governor’s phone on the way to a fundraising event. “It was really sad,” said the staffer. “And to be honest, it’s put all of us more on edge. Gavin worked so hard to show President Jingping the best parts of our beautiful state. But the whole time he had this wry smug on his face. No matter where we brought him, he seemed unimpressed and disinterested. And now, Gavin nervously paces around the Governor’s Mansion, checking his phone every five minutes to see if he got a response. I’m really worried for him,” the staffer continued. At press time, Governor Newsom confirmed that he was eager to continue fostering diplomatic relations by visiting the Chinese President at a ‘fancy hotel’ in Beijing next month.
