Kamala Harris Takes It A Little Too Far Pandering To The National Association Of Black Journalists
PHILADELPHIA, PA - Attendees at the National Association of Black Journalists meeting were stunned when Vice President Kamala Harris showed up with a bucket of fried chicken, a watermelon, and a posse of streetwise teens in an effort to “relate to her brothas and sistas” on Tuesday.
“What’s up y’all!” the Democratic nominee proclaimed to the crowd of black journalists and media members. “Who’s ready to raise the roof off this motha? Let me tell y’all something, the man keeps trying to hold us down. Ain’t nobody got time for that. We gon’ march on down to Washington and get the justice we deserve. Can I get an amen?”
While Harris repeatedly tried to crack jokes and connect, the attendees were not impressed.
“I don’t know what kind she was doing, but we were very offended.” Politico’s Eugene Daniels said. “Our organization prides itself in representing black journalists across the country who care deeply about the reporting issues that affect all of us.”
According to another moderator who asked the Vice President what her plan was to get the economy working for struggling black families, she responded, “Shiiiit, you know honey. We’re just gonna do a little bit of this and a little bit of that, and we’re gonna get it done.”
While the moderators kept trying to bring up serious political issues, Harris responded to each question with a Migos quote, a story about her childhood on the ‘rough side of town’, or a new slang word she clearly didn’t know how to use.
At press time, Harris was reportedly fishing for an invitation to a family cookout from the audience.
